U.S. State Department – Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL)

Symposit was engaged by the U.S. State Department Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) to evaluate a key technology platform for scalability and suitability across the agency. Our goal was to determine whether the platform could be expanded to serve a larger audience or if a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution would better meet the agency’s needs.

Symposit effectively audited, discovered, and assessed the software system for the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), ensuring that the current IT investments were maximized. Our team meticulously captured requirements from various offices and stakeholders to confirm that the existing technology could support their operations without requiring the INL to invest heavily in procuring or migrating to a new system.

Collaborating closely with INL, we designed the requirements for a global IT system to streamline program development, acquisition management, and operations. Our team documented system and functional requirements, identified impacted processes, and supported market research efforts. We also developed statements of work (SOWs) and Independent Cost Evaluations (IGCEs) to assist with budgeting and provided expert technical guidance during solution evaluations.

The project delivered a solid foundation that enabled INL to enhance the agency’s capabilities without the need for costly system overhauls, ensuring the Bureau could meet its mission effectively and efficiently.
